Rob Dick (Solar Eclipse Wrap-up), is a mechanical engineer and a part-time astronomy instructor at Carleton University. He has taught all levels of astronomy, from public lectures to training sessions for the Canadian astronauts.
One of Rob's passions is to capture the motion of the heavens on film. To accomplish this, he uses customized 16 mm movie cameras to allow him to make time-lapse movies of celestial events. In February, Rob used this equipment in Curacao to capture the total solar eclipse. Rob will share the results of his work with us.
