Glenn LeDrew (Observing the Structure of our Galaxy) is an
accomplished astrophotographer who has travelled to the ends of the world to
observe and photograph deep sky wonders. He lives in Ottawa, where he runs
an astronomical business called The Starry Room, which features a Starlab
planetarium and utilizes his own unique all-sky photographic projector. He
travels throughout the province giving planetarium shows to schools and
special interest groups (glenn_ledrew@hotmail.com).
Glenn will lead a tour of our sector of the Milky Way Galaxy, with emphasis
on the objects and large scale features visible with the naked eye and small
instruments. Spiral arms, dark clouds of dust, clusters, nebulae, star
forming regions and the little-known Gould's Belt will be put into
perspective. Beginners and veteran skywatchers will obtain a fresh
perspective on the night sky.
