Some notable dates in 2012 February 20 - March 12 - Best Chance to see Mercury in 2012 March 3 - Mars at Opposition March 14 - Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. The two brightest planets in the sky will be within 3 degrees of each other in the evening sky. On March 25 and 25, the crescent Moon will be near the two planets April 15 - Saturn at Opposition. May 20 Annular (Partial from our perspective) Eclipse of the sun, visible at sunset June 4 - Partial Lunar Eclipse June 6th Venus Transit visible at sunset in progress August 6 - Curiosity Rover at Mars. August 12, 13 - Perseids Meteor Shower November 13 - Total Solar Eclipse (Australia and Pacific). November 17, 18 - Leonids Meteor Shower during young moon. December 3 - Jupiter at OppositionDate
